I'd stay away from the AMD quad cores for a while yet Stealthy. All of the reviews I've read say that they are slow and hot. Intel is still leading the pack for multi-cores atm

Dont touch AMD yet mate. They rushed their quad core coz Intel was beating them on sales. And coz they rushed it, its too hot, and too many problems.

Also, stay away from 'Black Edition' gcard. Its a gimmic, find the same one with no black edition.

I'm not sure id would be updating just at moment hardware has not advance enough this year to make it worth it hopefully next year we see some big jumps like we have seen in previous years not little steps to make small improvements like they have done lately.
If your going to spend ya money your always better of waiting till your old system cant play new games at decent quality with good frames remember tomorrows technology is always better than todays waiting will not only save you money but it will give you better tech.

I'll now invest in an Intel CPU, M/B & appropriate ram. it's gonna cost me an extra $200 but hell, what the heck. As for Graphic's card i'll buy a XFX 9600GT XXX EDITION 512meg GDDR3 Core Clock 700Mhz Model: PV-T94P-YHD4 and it comes with you guessed it a FREE Company Of Heroes...now my son's will be able to play CoH online as well.

There is the train of thought that it's sometimes best to buy the best you can now.
There's always going to be something better coming out 'soon'
